🌞 School’s nearly out and the long summer days are just around the corner! We’ve gathered the best kid-friendly activities to help you make the most of the holidays. From water fun and outdoor adventures to special events, theatre, and creative workshops — there’s something for everyone. Let the summer fun begin! 🏖️

The playground at Parque Marechal Carmona Park has finally re-opened! 🎉
Catch the final days of ‘Dino on the road’ in Jardim da Quinta da Alagoa until June 26th

Summer Days
Here’s our round up of kid friendly beaches and pools in the area, perfect for playing, swimming and hanging out for the day
Oeiras
Oeiras Ocean Pool has two pools (one shallow at 40cm), open daily 9:30–19:30 until end of August, and 10:00–19:00 in September. VIP area with shade and sun loungers is bookable in advance online
Top tips:
Venture outside the pools for lunch at Maruto or ice cream at Davvero
Break up the day by renting bikes for the kids at Aquastart and pedal around the marina (30 minutes is enough). They have (tandem) kart bikes for the younger kids.
Parents with older kids and can enjoy a 1 hour boat trip to Bugios Lighthouse; pre-booking required - suitable from 6 years+
Praia Velha Beach is a small sheltered beach with easy parking and shallow entry. Please note: dogs are allowed on this beach in summer.
Top tip: Break up the day by crossing the underpass to enjoy the playground or venture further to the market square and enjoy snacks or lunch at Piccadilly overlooking another playground
Younger kids can enjoy the indoor play café O Passo
Sintra
Praia das Maçãs Pool one large pool (with slides), and one smaller with a fountain. It also has shaded areas, lawn area, lifeguards and a convenient snack bar. Open every day 9:30 - 19:00 until September 15th
Top tip: Break up the day with a short walk to the playground, market and beach nearby with lots of food options at the beach and at Aldeia da Praia
Arribas Pool in Praia Grande has a huge saltwater pool - best for older kids. It is open weekdays 10:00 - 19:30 and weekends 9:30 - 19:30.
Top tip: You can grab lunch or sunset dinner at the hotel or one of the restaurants on the beach
Cascais
Alberto Romano Ocean Pool has a sandy bottom, shallow depth and a lifeguard present during the summer - good for younger kids. Parking and refreshments on the boardwalk are close at hand.
Cresmina Beach has easy parking, a dune to play on and roll down, a beach bar and a offers a less crowded option than the beaches in town
Top Tip: Bring shade and beach toys and check beach conditions in advance here
Agua Fun inflatables on Conceição beach is open 9:00 - 19:00 every day during summer - suitable for older kids
