Cascais
•🏊 Alberto Romano Ocean Pool - A sheltered sea pool with a sandy bottom and shallow depth, with a lifeguard on duty through the summer. Perfect for younger kids. Parking and refreshments right on the boardwalk.
🏖️ Cresmina Beach - Easier parking than the town beaches, dunes to roll down, a beach bar, and room to breathe. Bring shade and beach toys. Check live wind conditions on the beachcam before you go.
🌊 Água Fun Inflatables at Praia da Conceição - A giant sea inflatable aquapark the kids can swim out to and clamber all over. Open daily 9:00–19:00 in summer. Best for ages 6+.
Oeiras
🏊 Piscina Oceânica de Oeiras - Two pools (including a shallow one for little ones), open daily 9:30–19:00 (July–August). A shaded VIP area is bookable online. Location 💡 Top tip: Underground parking available. Head out for lunch in the marina with ice cream at Davvero. Rent bikes from Aquastart and pedal around the marina — they have tandem kart bikes for smaller kids.
🏖️ Praia Velha - A small, sheltered beach with easy parking, shallow entry and calm water. Good for a quieter morning. Note: dogs are allowed here in summer. 💡 Top tip: Cross the underpass for a playground and grab lunch at Madrasta, Piccadilly or O Passo all with play areas nearby.
Sintra
🏊 Praia das Maçãs Pool (Sintrasol) - A large pool with slides plus a smaller children's pool with a fountain, shaded areas, lawn, lifeguards and a snack bar. Open daily 9:30–19:00 until September 15. Location 💡 Top tip: Combine with a visit to the nearby playground and market, and eat at the beach or Aldeia da Praia.
🏊 Arribas Pool at Praia Grande - A dramatic clifftop saltwater pool with stunning ocean views — best for older kids and strong swimmers. Open everyday 10:00–19:30. Location 💡 Top tip: Stay for lunch or a sunset dinner at one of the beach restaurants or take out and have a beach pizza picnic from Angra Gatti.
